If you’re reading this on its day of publication (a Saturday), chances are you probably are a bit of a weekend warrior. But do you send email marketing campaigns over the weekend?
Just a few years ago, the thought of lining campaigns up to roll out over the weekend would have seemed ridiculous. Email was something that was accessed during the working week (normally when people were meant to be working). But with the recent proliferation of mobile technology (smartphones, tablets, etc.), everything has changed.
People now carry their email inbox around with them everywhere and engage with it constantly.
This means you can now market to them when they are in a better position to react to your targeted campaigns.
How about offering a discount voucher for your brick-and-mortar store or restaurant when people are out and about and in a buying frame of mind or getting hungry?
How about marketing leisure products when people are actively engaged in their hobbies?
And don’t forget all those soccer moms and ballet school dads (yep, I’m one of them) who have time on their hands and nothing more than a smartphone to entertain them while they wait for their little darlings. On days like those, I really appreciate a full inbox.
The weekend might just be a great time to hit your list.
